North Houston Psychiatry: Information for Patients
WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS!

At North Houston Psychiatry, we take care to provide our patients with high quality mental health services personalized for their needs.  We offer a variety of services including medication management and counseling.  We treat ages 13 and up and a large range of problems or issues including (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, mood disorders, fibromyalgia, addictions, ADD/ADHD, dementia, Alzheimers, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, chemical dependancy, substance abuse and a variety of other problems.  However, we will always aim to treat you as an individual and not just your diagnosis.

SCHEDULING A NEW APPOINTMENT/EVALUATION
When you call, please specify whether you are a cash pay patient or whether you have insurance. Please be prepared with your insurance card and have all of your insurance information available if you are an insurance patient. Also, please be sure and clarify which location you will be seen at.  Evening appointments and Saturday appointments are available so please let the receptionist know if you would prefer one of those appointments. Our staff is available to take your calls and schedule an appointment Monday through Saturday. If we do not immediately answer your phone call, leave a message and we call you back as soon as possible. You are important to us!

​PREPARING FOR YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT:
If you are a private pay patient, please bring payment in full with you to the appointment.  We accept cash, check and credit cards.  If we accept your insurance, please bring your co-pay, your insurance card and identification to the appointment.  For all new patients, please arrive to the appointment at least 15 minutes early.  If you have trouble finding us, please call for directions.

SCHEDULING A FOLLOW-UP:
Please be sure and clarify the location you will be seen at.

POLICY ON REFILLS:
Patients are given enough medication to get them through to their next appointment. Therefore, refills are given at the time of your next appointment unless arranged differently with your psychiatrist.  It is imperative that patients schedule all follow-up appointments so as to not run out of medication. It is always the patient's responsibility to schedule and attend follow-up appointments so as to prevent running out of medication.  Refills between appointments or without an appointment will only be given in exceptional circumstances.  Failing to show up to your appointment is not an exceptional circumstance.
