Originally from Bridge City, Texas, Dr. Godsy obtained a Chemical Engineering degree from McNeese State in 1997. He then attended and graduated from Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. Dr. Godsy completed three years residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern--Austin Psychiatry Program and a year at The University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. After completing his residency, Dr. Godsy was given a faculty appointment at UTHSCH's Medical School. Dr. Godsy was an attending physician overseeing the training of psychiatry residents and medical students for two years before deciding to go into full-time private practice.
Over the years, he has seen patients in a variety of settings and hospitals including M.D. Anderson, Memorial Hermann, Harris County Psychiatric Center, Lyndon B. Johnson hospital, and St Joseph's Medical Center. Dr. Godsy is currently the medical director of the Senior Care Behavioral Unit at Tomball Regional Medical Center in addition to in his out-patient practice, North Houston Psychiatry, PLLC.
Dr. Godsy treats many different psychiatric conditions including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, OCD, Alzheimer's, other dementias, phobias, panic disorder, psychosis and others.
Dr. Godsy has received the Patients' Choice award for the past 3 years. He has also been named one of Houston's top doctors, as nominated by his peers, in the Houstonia magazine for 2014 and 2015.
